The 2026 elections are in the rear view mirror; campaigns for 2028 have already started

Caveat: Just because someone officially expresses interest in a particular does not mean that person will appear on a ballot as a candidate for that office.

In 2028,  AZ's ballots will have POTUS, one US Senate seat (currently held by Mark Kelly), all 9 seats in the US House of Representatives, all 90 legislative seats, 3 seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC), and in Maricopa County, all 5 seats on the Board of Supervisors and all county-wide offices (except Clerk of the Superior Court, which was up this year).

All of them require potential candidates in AZ to file statements of interest (SOI) with the AZ Secretary of State (AZSOS) or Maricopa County Elections (depending on the office sought).

A look at Federal Election Commission (FEC) records indicate no new candidate committees formed in AZ since the election, for POTUS, Senate, or House.

While neither has formed a committee for it as yet, it not exactly a closely held secret that of AZ's US Senators (Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego) are mulling 2028 runs for POTUS.

As of right now, I cannot find a 2028 list of filed SOIs on the website of the AZSOS, though I did find one for Rene Lopez, a Republican incumbent on the ACC.  It was filed on 9/22/2026.

At the Maricopa County level there is a list of SOIs filed.  It is 16 strong, and made up mostly (not entirely) of incumbents expressing interest in returning to the same office.

It's early yet, so most of this will change between now and (probably) early February of 2028 (though the POTUS candidate field in AZ will be finalized before then).
