Cheeto held to the same standard as everyone. His response: stamp his feet and cry "Waaahhhh!"

From CNBC -

Trump gripes he can’t reject ‘unlimited’ jurors in New York

hush money trial

Donald Trump complained Wednesday that his lawyers were not given “unlimited” chances to reject prospective jurors at his New York criminal hush money trial.

But state law caps the number of would-be jurors his lawyers can strike without cause.

Trump has received that correct number strikes given the type of criminal charges he faces: 10 peremptory strikes for jurors, plus another two for every alternate juror.

That's soooo Cheeto: Tell a lie and then sue others for telling the truth

From Politico (emphasis added by me)-

Trump laments $464M judgment, sues ABC News and George Stephanopoulos for defamation

Donald Trump on Tuesday posted a string of complaints lamenting the “practically impossible” $464 million he is unable to obtain a bond for in the civil fraud judgment against him, the day after hitting ABC News and George Stephanopoulos with a defamation lawsuit for an undisclosed sum.

The former president’s lawyers said in a Monday court filing that “ongoing diligent efforts have proven that a bond in the judgment’s full amount is a ‘practical impossibility,’” including “approaching about 30 surety companies through 4 separate brokers.” Trump’s inability to pay raises the possibility that the state attorney general’s office could begin to seize his assets unless the court agrees to halt the judgment while the former president appeals the verdict.

[snip]

“Judge Engoron actually wants me to put up Hundreds of Millions of Dollars for the Right to Appeal his ridiculous decision,” Trump wrote. “ … I would be forced to mortgage or sell Great Assets, perhaps at Fire Sale prices, and if and when I win the Appeal, they would be gone. Does that make sense? WITCH HUNT. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”

Trump’s assertion that he needs to post hundreds of millions of dollars “for the right to appeal” is wrong. He can appeal the judgment without posting any money — and indeed, he already has begun the appeals process.

[snip]

Trump’s rants over his legal issues in New York come after he sued ABC News and Stephanopoulos for defamation Monday over a March 10 airing of “This Week.” The anchor said on air that Trump had been found liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll during a heated interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.).

Cheeto actually *likes* the RNC. Imagine what he'll do to the USA if he returns to the White House.

From Politico -

Bloodbath at RNC: Trump team slashes staff at committee

Donald Trump’s newly installed leadership team at the Republican National Committee on Monday began the process of pushing out dozens of officials, according to two people close to the Trump campaign and the RNC.

All told, the expectation is that more than 60 RNC staffers who work across the political, communications and data departments will be let go. Those being asked to resign include five members of the senior staff, though the names were not made public. Additionally, some vendor contracts are expected to be cut.

Cheeto's gambit is not without historical precedent.

Cheeto has an interesting definition of "loser"

From The Hill -

Trump lashes out at ‘loser’ Rep. Debbie Dingell in swirling feud

Former President Trump hit back at Rep. Debbie Dingell’s (D-Mich.) criticism of his “rot in Hell” Christmas message, calling her a “loser” in the latest in a string of insults aimed at the lawmaker and her family.

Debbie Dingell of Michigan is a LOSER, who is helping Crooked Joe Biden, and his Merry Band of Thugs, to DESTROY our Country with his INSANE Open Borders Policy, Inflation, High Cost Energy, Green New Scam, HORRIBLE WORLD DIPLOMACY, Afghanistan Catastrophe, All Electric Cars, and so much else,” Trump wrote Tuesday in a Truth Social post.

Cheeto throws Sidney Powell under the bus

At least he didn't say she only fetched coffee.

From CNN -

After Sidney Powell pleads guilty in Georgia case, Trump claims she was ‘never’ his attorney, despite their past ties

Former President Donald Trump claimed Sidney Powell was “never” his attorney in a social media post Sunday, three days after she pleaded guilty in the Georgia election subversion case.

Despite Trump’s claims, Powell was briefly an official member of Trump’s legal team in 2020, and Trump stayed in contact with her on election-related matters even after she was ousted from his campaign.

Dear attorneys for Cheeto:

This turn of events proves something - not only should  you wait for the retainer check to clear before doing anything for him, his campaign, or one of his companies, you should probably photocopy that check before depositing it,

McCarthy makes his case...for being Cheeto's running mate

Certainly not as a decent human being, but that would utterly disqualify him from being one of Cheeto's hangers on.

However, he's got the "petty, vindictive, and cowardly" part of the job description down pat, to the point where the Rs who voted against him may be thinking that they'd change their votes if only he were like them all the time.

From CNN, dated 10/4 -

McCarthy behind move to kick Pelosi out of her office, sources say – so he can move into it

Kevin McCarthy was behind interim Speaker Patrick McHenry’s move to kick former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Majority Leader Steny Hoyer out of their office spaces, two Republican sources told CNN.

GOP Rep. Garret Graves told reporters on Wednesday that McCarthy is getting the office that McHenry has ordered her to vacate.

She didn't even vote to depose McCarthy; she didn't vote to keep him, either.  She was out of town, escorting the body of a friend, Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

From the vote to depose McCarthy -

Yes, McCarthy didn't even have the fortitude to face the target of his ire.  Nope, he did dirt to someone who did nothing to him but waited until she was a continent away to do it.

Basically, he exhibited the epitome of cowardice.

But it's not just him; it's the entire GOP caucus.

From The Hill, dated 10/4 -

House GOP takes revenge on Democrats after McCarthy ousting

Allies of toppled former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are fuming at Democrats for failing to back him amid his historic ejection — leaving Democrats arguing the GOP has no one to blame but themselves.

Republican ire hasn’t just been centered on the eight members of their own conference who ignited and backed the vote to oust McCarthy, but also the Democrats who voted in unison to remove him.

No has explained why members of the Democratic caucus should be thought of as responsible for fixing the Republicans' mess.

The Rs (including McCarthy) *chose* to embrace and empower their most radical members; that's on them.

They made this mess; they need to clean it up.

I'm not a Biblical person, but this reminds me of a saying taken from Hosea 8:7, emphasis added by them..

In other House Speaker news, Cheeto has endorsed one of the Rs who are declared candidates for the speakership.

From AP -

Donald Trump endorses Jim Jordan to succeed Kevin McCarthy as House speaker

Former President Donald Trump is backing Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, the pugnacious House Judiciary Committee chairman and longtime Trump defender, to succeed Kevin McCarthy as House speaker.

“Congressman Jim Jordan has been a STAR long before making his very successful journey to Washington, D.C., representing Ohio’s 4th Congressional District,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social site early Friday. “He will be a GREAT Speaker of the House, & has my Complete & Total Endorsement!”

Not surprising the someone deemed liable for raping someone thinks so highly of someone noted for using his position to protect sexual predators.

Get your popcorn out, and fasten your seatbelts - this is shaping up to be an entertaining but bumpy ride.

NBC's Meet The Press interviews Cheeto

Meet The Press (MTP) has a new host, Kristin Welker.

NBC celebrated the change from Chuck Todd as host with an interview of Cheeto.

OK - it was a ratings grab by NBC; the suits there don't actually care about Welker or Todd.

Cheeto was his usual self - arrogant, misogynistic, and hostile.

His disdain for women was on full display - he blamed Nancy Pelosi for the insurrection of January 6, 2021 and regularly talked over Welker - when he didn't just loudly refuse to answer one of her questions.

NBC's transcript of the interview is here, but I suggest watching the video of the interview in order to see Cheeto being Cheeto.

Interestingly, Cheeto's raging misogyny might help MTP address one of its glaring problems.

Like most other Sunday morning talkfests, MTP tends to give a platform to many Republican "insiders" of the DC genus but Cheeto has such a hold on R politicians and their thinking, that his misogyny might motivate them into avoiding any outlet hosted by a woman.

Sneak preview of the Rs' 2024 campaign rhetoric: Wahhh!

I don't what's worse: the lies or the temper tantrums.

Either way, the majority Rs in the AZ lege are acting like spoiled toddlers.  Instead of, ya know, *governing.*

From Pinal Central, written by Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services, emphasis added by me -

Republicans overstate cost of Hobbs' gender surgery order

If you believe the figures cited publicly by Senate Republicans, there are more than 5,500 state and university employees who want taxpayers to pay for gender reassignment surgery.

That's how many such procedures could be performed using the claims by the GOP that the new "abuse of power'' executive order by Gov. Katie Hobbs means "taxpayers will be shelling out $788 million annually for this coverage.''

But it turns out not to be true.

A copy of the actual report to the Legislature from the Department of Administration obtained by Capitol Media Services pegs the annual cost at a thousand times less -- $788,000.

(The article has lots of information; I recommend reading the entire article)

Then there's the temper tantrum.

From the website of the Senate Republicans (dated 6/26), again, emphasis added by me -

With Hobbs’ Continued Executive Overreach, Senate Nominations Hearing Canceled, Meeting Requested

In the wake of Katie Hobbs' recent unconstitutional executive order on abortions, Senate Committee on Director Nominations Chairman Jake Hoffman is canceling Tuesday's scheduled hearing, with support of the Republican Majority serving on the committee, to determine Hobbs' future intentions to further act beyond her authority.

The concerning executive order issued last week attempts to strip county attorneys of their ability to deal with abortion-related prosecutions and bans state agencies from assisting in those investigations.

(Whoever wrote this one seems to need the bovine equivalent of Ex-Lax; there's a lot of BS here.  I DON'T recommend reading this one in its entirety.)
