2014 candidates update

More like a "committees" update since this is based on the actual formation of political committees; since every person who has ever held or run for office in Arizona is being talked about as a 2014 candidate, that would be too long a post.

This will be a short post. :)

...Christopher Campbell of Prescott Valley (R) has formed an exploratory committee for a run at the Corporation Committee.  The name sounded familiar, so I did a little research.  One "Christopher Campbell" was a big part of the "fake Green candidates" scandal in 2010.  That Christopher Campbell was a roommate of the daughter of former Arizona House speaker Jim Weiers.  He was one of many non-Green Party members who were recruited to run as write-in candidates in competitive races in an attempt to siphon votes away from Democratic candidates.  I don't know that this is the same Christopher Campbell, but this one was active with the MCRC (Maricopa County Republican Committee) the following year, and I am not a fan of coincidence.

...State Senator Leah Landrum Taylor, the Democratic leader in the AZ Senate, has formed an exploratory committee to look at a run for AZ Secretary of State.  She is smart and well-spoken, and also term-limited out of the Senate.  Unless Ed Pastor takes a presidential cabinet post or an ambassadorship (or simply retires from Congress), a 2014 run for a seat in Congress for her seems unlikely.

...Jim Holway of Phoenix (D) has opened an exploratory committee for a run at the Corporation Commission.  He is currently a member of the Central Arizona Water Conservation District (CAWCD), also known as the Board of Directors of the Central Arizona Project (CAP).  Will Greene of Blog for Arizona has more information here.

...Andrew Walter, a former quarterback at ASU, has filed with the FEC to run for the Republican nomination for the Congressional seat currently held by Democrat Kyrsten Sinema (CD9).  Don't know enough about him to evaluate his chances against Sinema, but it may not matter - the Republican field in that race will be crowded, and unlike Walter, most of the other Republicans in the race won't be newbies.

Word is that he's been test-driving a campaign stump speech that makes the tea party look moderate; we'll see if he sticks with that.

More to come...

The 2014-ballot-qualified Americans Elect Party is planning to siphon off Republican votes with our right-wing gubernatorial nominee:

PHOENIX, May 24 -

In its semi-annual meeting at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix today, the Supreme Leader and Council of Guardians of the Arizona Americans Elect Party strongly and unanimously endorsed business leader J.L. Mealer of Mesa as the party's 2014 candidate for governor of Arizona.

"We are grateful that Mr. Mealer has decided to run on the Americans Elect Party banner," said Trey Young, Supreme Leader of Arizona's fastest-growing political party. "He'll make Arizona cool again."

"Although Mr. Mealer is a conservative and holds views different from the party leadership and most of the party's enrolled voters," said Dr. Irina Tereshkova, treasurer of the state party, "we are a political party that is open to everyone, and people of different views are welcome to join."

"We urge Mr. Mealer to make a strong race for governor and lead our party to victory in 2014, when we are assured of ballot access," said Buffy Lehman Auchincloss, the party's first vice-chairwoman. "If he can get just five percent of the vote, the Arizona Americans Elect Party will achieve permanent ballot access without having to get petitions for 2016, when we can nominate our presidential candidate."

Jaden Parascandola, co-chair of the Maricopa County Americans Elect Party and speaker for the state party's Council of Guardians, said, "We are hoping other candidates of all political persuasions join J.L. Mealer in rounding out the Arizona Americans Elect Party ballot as our standard bearers for Congress, the state legislature, the corporation commission, secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general, superintendent of public instruction, and state mine inspector."

"J.L. Mealer is exactly the candidate any progressive party like Americans Elect would want to run in Arizona," said Rabbi Elana de Carvajal, co-chair of Pima County Americans Elect Party. "Anyone who reads his semi-literate drivel can see he's a not very bright teabagger nutjob and as the Americans Elect Party gubernatorial candidate he'll split the moronic majority in stupid Arizona with conservative Republican and Libertarian candidates, thus allowing a progressive Democrat to win the election."

"If we're being honest here, that's really our party's goal next year: we're using Americans Elect to siphon off some Republican votes," added Dr. Tereshkova. "It's pretty obvious that J.L. Mealer will appeal only to those who'd otherwise vote for the GOP candidate."

Trey Young emphasized that Mr. Mealer will run a campaign independent of the party apparatus: "For now, we are just happy that the Arizona Americans Elect Party has found our candidate for governor in 2014."

An eye-opener regarding Mealer and Americans Elect. #1: Trey Young is a fictional character in a book by Richard Grayson, no party exists.

#2 HOWEVER:
JL Mealer (me) has reopened the Amercans Elect of Arizona and I will become Arizona's next Governor. Mr.Ted Downing had also reopened (months prior to my committee) a variation of AE with his committee Arizona Americans Elect.

AE gave Arizona third party ballot access and this is a very valuable tool against the one party calling themselves Democrats and Republicans.

The big thing is, I will become Arizona's next Governor (2014) through this ballot access. Call it third party, True Libertarian, True Republican, True Democratic Leadership to protect the Bill of Rights AND to create jobs without Pay-to-Play scandalous actions...

JL MEALER must become Arizona's next Governor or this state is dead and the rest of the nation will follow.

Arizona cannot handle another 4 years of dead-end "closet buddy politics", we need a real leader and that is me. I serve Arizona and Arizonans. Further, it is critical to know that I serve NO PARTY.

This is about survival of a state and nation and the dignity of Americans who have long since lost our ability to own anything let alone act with freedom.

I am here to protect those who have no other means to protect themselves and will reinstitute the Law of the Land (Bill of Rights), Allodial Title, acknowledge the various degrees of Arizona and American Citizenry and treat them according to the true Law and not some pay-to-play created statute.

Mealer means careers and industry and an open, unfettered ability to create and maintain a personal/private business... With one heck of a way to perpetuate that business when times are tough (my 100% optional OEISP program)... Please, read Mealer Initiative 2014, a free 15 page pdf download from http://jlmealer.com

I will not split the vote. I want ALL of the votes.
