Have you seen the Nation's piece on "The Constitution?" It mentions an AZ judge, related to anti-immigrant act sponsor who's giving "lectures" on the "intent" of the Constitution...Chilling reading.
You must be talking about good ol' Lester Pearce, who likes to teach that the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (women's suffrage) is a violation of state's rights.
Earlier this week, he was scheduled to give a continuing education seminar to court employees (he's the Presiding Judge of the Maricopa County Justice Courts (evictions, misdemeanors, small claims lawsuits, etc.) and I wanted to go watch, but the County wouldn't let me, instead referring me to something he is giving as a private citizen later this month.
I wanted to see what he was saying as an elected official, however. :(
This can be a scary place sometimes - there are crazy people everywhere, but here, they really *do* run the asylum.
