Due to a trojan horse (hiding on the Yahoo! Music site, I think), posting will be light for the next couple of days while I reformat (completed) and restore (ongoing) my system.
However, right now I need a break, so I am going to go see "District 9".
Later...

I hope you will post a review of the movie District 9.
OK, Thane, here goes
District 9 was a very good movie. It had a message, but didn't let that message get in the way of a good story.
The aliens in the movie serve as stand-ins for the social underclass the world over, though they are definitely an apt equivalent for South Africa's apartheid era.
One of the best things about science fiction stories is that they can be easily used as vehicles for social commentary without upsetting those with tender sensibilities (see: Robocop). Occasionally, things can get a little heavy-handed (see: The Day The Earth Stood Still), but for the most part, they just dress up a good story with some whiz bang effects.
District 9 has lots of action, lots of metaphor, lots of room for more.
For you pure capitalists - the ending left open (wide) the possibility of a sequel and probably a video game. Book tie-ins are possible, even likely.
Note: I'm deliberately not talking about the plot. Go see the movie. :)
I enjoyed it but it was so sad and boy the commentary on faceless nameless evil company men was really really really really pointed.
